Hear the Story

It’s no secret that freshmen like to rebel. Some rebel from the constraints of their parents. Some rebel from their religious upbringing. Some rebel by loosening the limits on their morality. A typical freshman rebels. This is the norm.

But, if that rebellion is typical, is it really rebellion? Isn’t it conformity? May be the average freshman year is just that, average. May be what you think is rebellion is actually conformity.

Rebel Freshman

What if there was another way? What if you could break free from the conformity that marks this class?

There is another way. Jesus came for rebels. He came for the human race which rebels against God. Some rebel against Him through loose living. Some rebel against God by obeying Him in order to entitle Him to give them stuff. God sent Jesus to seek and to save rebels like this.

Jesus also came to begin a different type of rebellion. The rebellion that erupted in the wake of Jesus’ resurrection is continuing today. It begins with repentance, where those who were running from God actually turn and run to God. They lose their former way of life that conformed to the crowd, and they gain a new life that conforms to Jesus and his cross. They challenge the status quo. They follow Jesus along the path of non-conformity. Of rebellion.

Joining the rebellion Jesus instigated involves redirecting your life, rearranging your priorities, and resisting the norm for his sake. As you consider it, we want to take you through a four week study so you understand the nature of this rebellion. Each study will last one hour and we will bring a Bible for you. The studies are divided according to gender and are not limited to freshmen only. They are on campus, may be even in your dorm.

These studies are led by Providence College Ministry students.
